ONCIX is pleased to announce the deployment of the Classification Management and IC Markings System Web-based training (WBT). It was prepared in collaboration with the Information Security Oversight Office (ISOO) and Intelligence Community (IC) elements, and fulfills Executive Order (EO) 13526 training requirements for derivative classifiers, as well as IC markings system training as directed by Intelligence Community Directive 710.
The Classification Management and IC Markings System WBT focuses on derivative classification principles established in the EO, emphasizing the need to avoid over-classification. Additional topics include classification levels, duration of classification, identification and markings, classification prohibitions and limitations, sanctions, classification challenges, security classification guides, and information sharing.
ONCIX provides this WBT as a service to all recipients and authorized holders of National Security Information (NSI), and will be revised annually. It is intended for all IC elements but also may be useful to employees (staff and contractors) of other U.S. Government agencies. Note: Employees interested in taking the WBT should check with their security or classification management office(r) for agency-specific directions on the use of this course and verification of completion requirements.
