community programs & evaluation
ONCIX is charged by statute with integrating counterintelligence activities across the Intelligence Community and evaluating the Community's implementation of The National Counterintelligence Strategy. In furtherance of that mandate, this section performs cyclical reviews of all US counterintelligence programs, evaluates them against strategic and budgetary goals, and makes fiscal recommendations to the Director of National Intelligence. These recommendations are designed to eliminate unwise duplication of effort and enhance the alignment of agency activities with national goals.
2010 counterintelligence integration initiative
The purpose of the CI integration initiative program is to identify emerging technology and new methodology that will advance counterintelligence.
The evaluation process continues for the 68 proposals received in response to the FY 2010 Counterintelligence Integration Initiative (CI3) call for proposals. This represents a 38 percent increase over last year's submissions. Proposals were received from across the intelligence community, military services and other federal agencies. The goal of CI3 is to invest in projects that develop technology, tools and methodologies that address the CI challenges facing the United States. An official announcement regarding those proposals selected for award is now expected by mid to late January.
