one evil

In the early stages of its existence,
the National Counterintelligence Center,
now known as the Office of the National
Counterintelligence Executive (ONCIX),
produced its first security and counterintelligence
awareness security poster, featuring
the pictures of seven convicted spies
and a quote from George Washington.
In the ensuing years, the number of
convicted spies has increased, notwithstanding
Washington's admonition that "There
is one evil I dread, and that is,
their spies. I could wish, therefore,
the most attentive watch be kept..."
With this in mind, the ONCIX has updated
and reissued the poster. Combined
with the "One Evil," the
new poster identifies a number of
convicted spies in the post-Aldrich
Ames era, including the recent arrest
photo of Ana Belen Montes, the Defense
Intelligence Agency employee who is
the most senior spy for Cuba ever
caught.
